I've had 2 children at St. Mark's since 2005. My son has graduated and is will be a senior in high school this September. My daughter still attends St. Mark's and will be in the 5th grade this September. She will continue to attend St. Mark's until she is ready for high school or until I cannot afford it anymore. Both my children have received an excellent education at St. Mark's. My daughter is learning two languages, French and Spanish. Can there be more extra-curricular activities, yes. But I'm not that concerned about that. As her parent I ensure she 's well grounded. I am concerned about her receiving an up-standing education and at St. Mark's she is receiving that. More parents should volunteer their time and resources to aid Dr. Macatee (who's doing an excellent job) and the staff in keeping St. Mark's the excellent school I believe it

To me the school is way below average, my child hardely gets h/w, and when she does get h/w they do not collect it the next day. She is in kindergarden. The kids are very loud and disorderly when ever I drop by and I do plan on transfering her to another school in the fall. The girls are not allowed to wear their earings. The tuition is very cheap so you get kids from all different types of backgrounds. I chose the school because it was close by and my sister works right nextdoor.

The reviews posted here are largely disturbing. I attended PS 167 in the late 40's and early 50's. It was a wonderful school held in high regard within the system. My star rating is based past experience only. It is my fond wish that it draw upon its glorious past, improve dramatically and, by so doing, honor its alumni and the memory of long departed teachers and principals such as Mr. August Lodato.

P.S. 221 is a great school, you feel very welcome from the first day you step foot into the school. I can say this because that is the way I felt when my children attended the school and I still have the same feeling today. My nephew goes there now and the atmosphere is still the same. Go to 221.

My children feel valuable. The children reflected the teacher around them. The staff makes you feel interesting, because they touch the students in an even deeper way. The principal Dr. West makes everyone feel that they have a reason for being here. You have a reason for getting out of bed every morning and doing everything you do. You have a reason for being a part of this family, this world and this school. It makes a difference that you're here!

this schol is the best i been there since 1st grade i loved it everyone was helpful the teachers care about the what we learnd and make sure we undersatand it ms lane is one of the best she took time to indaviually help us ms johnson was awsome too everyone respected her

I appreciate that the school is now a "Blue Ribbon" school and some of the teachers are such hard workers. I particularly cannot understand why the principal is such a loud obnoxious woman. Whenever she speaks you can hear her all the way down the corridor and I have seen her chastise workers at the school in the presence of students, other teachers and parents. Which in my opinion is very unprofessional. The securities are always texting, or on the phone many days I can just walk up into the school. My face is probably familiar but do they really know me, I am appalled by the work of the school safety officers. As for homework I think that it should be more intense (and I am a parent that sits down with my child)

My daughter has attended MS 394 since 2002 and is now in the second grade. My daughter and I have had a fantastic experience in this school. The teachers are extremely dedicated to their job. They are excellent with keeping me informed with the progress of my child. The Assistant Principal and the Principal are always available to help with any concerns I have. The school encourages reading with a monthly reading log and names of children who read the most are posted for all to see. The classrooms are engaging and filled with activities. After school programs are offered to children in the 3rd grade on up. Children receive the opportunity to take test for elite Junior High Schools and their own Junior High is for the gifted. This school has been the dream public school for my family.

my school is a great school of achievement

i am the parent of a 6 grader this is our second year at KIPP AMP. The name speaks for itself Always Mentally Prepared. As far as middle schools got heis is the best in my opinion the teachers are excellent and dedicated. The Principal is always reachable and helpful. My daughter has adjusted well and loves the curriculum . They School definitely lives by the creed Team and family. the teachers,counselor and the principal all work together to make sure the children are college bound. As a Parent I feel that my voice is heard. Overall KIPP AMP is an amazing school>
