My daughter is a freshman in this school, and from my first impression, I have very high expectations. I see that from the start they have given the students the gift of freedom, and right along with that huge responsibility. I am a true believer of "boundaries"for our kids. I am confident with the this newly found freedom the kids are learning to be responsible young adult, and not prisoner s. I find the school staff to be organized, professional, and on track. I am grateful to the staff. My daughter loves the school and doesn't regret her decision. All her JHS friends have reverted there choices. I truly recommend this HS

This school cares about you regardless if you care or not. If you work hard and excel in your classes then plenty of opportunities will be given to you in order for you to become a better person and build a better portfolio/resume. Small school equals less drama and that could be boring for teenagers, but as far as academics goes, it's a plus! -Ricci K

This school has great teachers and great students. I attended this school from 9-12 grade since the day I walked in in 9th grade I was treated like family. Every student knows one another and if they don't they will by the time they graduate. I entered this school not knowing a single student by the time it was time for me to walk down the aisle in the La Guardia Community College Main Stage Theatre I knew everyone. I really had a good time doing two Shakespearian plays that were done in modern english so it was fun. I say to all of you who are reading this right now send your kid here you'll love it and so will your child.

Great Principal, great teachers, great community support... Definitely a rising star! My daughter is in the 4th grade and has to pay the teacher monthly rent for her seat in class out of their play money salary, which they earn by successfully doing their job (classroom chores). They also pay fees for missing assignments, incomplete assignments, or not obeying the classroom rules. There are incentives for the students with the most earnings. I love it! My daughter refuses to lose any money and her goal is to make as much money as she can. This teacher is a genius! :-)

Dutch Kills Elementary is a very good school. The Students, Educators and Administrators are all highly engaged and motivated. Operation HOPE/Banking on Our Future has conducted Financial Literacy Education at Dutch Kills for several years. Principal Rafael Campos-Gatjens and Asst. Principal Margaret DiCarlo Grub consistently demonstrate a progressive approach to education. This year we educated three 4th grade classes on Financial Literacy. The Students showed great enthusiasm and were quick learners. We at Operation HOPE/Banking on Our Future look forward to working closely with Dutch Kills Elementary for years to come.
