I have had to opportunity to view the school as an alum and as a parent. Horace Mann is one of the best high schools in the country. It possesses the facilities of a college and offers the course selection of one as well. With an average class size of 14-15 there is plenty of opportunity for close teacher/student interaction and it is easy for a student to get extra help from a teacher. The administration is very accomdating if a student has an issue or an illness. The faculty is first rate. With average home work of 2-3 hrs a night, the acedmics are challenging and the school can be a real pressure cooker. There is also an early awareness of the college process even as early as 9th grade.

Extremely well rounded institution. The program is challenging, and those not up to the task may find a better fit elsewhere, but for those who can handle the work, it's a great experience.

I graduated last year from Fieldston, having attended since kindergarten at Ethical Culture. I cannot express how grateful I am to have received an education there, as I feel that I was not only nurtured as a student but as a thinker, and generally fostered an interest in, what I can only assume will be lifelong learning. Fieldston really allowed me to find my niche with its fantastic art department, as well as teachers who can only be described as magnificent. Fieldston combines the incredible academics of Horace Mann with an attention to developing a person as a whole, rather than someone whose only passion in life is entrance to an Ivy League university. I could probably write for hours about my love for Fieldston--I can't recommend it enough.

My son has been there for two years and he loves the school. He excels in all subjects, and is taught in a way that makes it fun for him. There is a lot of teacher involvement in my son't progress and there are conferences in which I get a report of everything he's working on and how he's doing in specific subjects. I am very confident that my son is getting a great education. There is also a newsletter which lets me know things that are happening within his school. There are many afterschool activities he can choose from like cartooning, sports, chess, etc.

This school is awesome! When I came here 4 years ago I felt alone but the students and faculty welcomed me. I have friends and their are no clicks. It is great because if someone does something not wright the teachers don't scream at you they just talk about it in a ' care meeting' with you. They have a big field, tennis courts, volley ball courts, and a gym.

My son attended this school for 6 years. He did wonderfully. This school addressed his needs to the fullest. He thrived. The teachers and staff there are wonderful. I highly recommend this school.

This is the best school, I love this school. They have nice kids, Sister Katleen which is a very nice principal. Nice teachers, my homeroom teacher is very nice. I am gad I could go to this school.
