VINCENT SMITH SCHOOL

This was our 1st year at Vincent Smith and I could not be happier. My son was stuggling just to keep up and it was a emotional/mental strain on our family. We came from another nonsecular private school where we were very happy but the workload became harder for him as he got into the high school. Now he feels succesful, there is no more fighting about homework and there is peace at home. And I am proud to say that he has made "Honor Roll" every semester. The child didn't even know what an Honor Roll was!

Several years back I had rated this school, but since, it has improved in any areas that were in need of improvement. It is an excellent, up and coming school, with a fantastic principal, who is willing to withstand any storm. There is no better middle school.

This is a fabulous school with excellent leadership. I have three very different children and all have been very well-served by the teachers and other professionals, who are caring and dedicated. The principal is responsive and attentive to detail. If only the middle school were half as good.

Excellent child-centered school! Dedicated professionals with a wide repetoire of strategies to meet the individual needs of students. Wonderful principal who leads by example! High level of parental involvement. Many extra-curricular opportunities for students. Small class sizes with emphasis on hands-on learning. Classrooms are equiped with the latest technology and children have access to a state of the art computer lab and library media center. The school climate is warm and inviting. Students, staff and parents feel that they are all an important part of the Manorhaven 'family.' This is a phenomenal elementary school. Art, music, and sports programs are abundant and top notch. Enrichment opportunities are available for each student. School has ESL, special education services, math resource teachers and a gifted and talented program which help students flourish.

I have three children at this school as of September. It is a small, caring environment, with a strong focus on academic excellence and community. The principal, nurse, and teachers have an open door policy and work hard to help the students with their individual needs. There is a strong community feel within the students across grades and between the families.

We are thrilled with this school and the district, teachers and administration. We feel it has the services of a private school, the teachers and leadership is excellent, the school and programs are great. Our kids were in the Manhasset School District and we like this better both in terms of education and how happy our kids are. It is more diverse than the Manhasset School which was too WASPy.
