I am extremely happy with this school. I have two children who attend in different grades and I am pleased with the small class size and capable, dedicated teachers that they have. It compares favorably to the expensive private school my children were enrolled in when we lived in New York City.

Our children arrived in 4th and 5th grade of Milton, coming from Switzerland and only mastering a very basic level of English. We speak dutch at home, our kids have their education in german. The Milton experience has been fantastic ! Great, highly qualified teachers, diverse school programme incl. extra-cirriculum, very active parents teachers organization. The english as second language (ESL) programme and flexible attitude of the teachers, has greatly helped our kidds to get over the language hurdle. Milton's programme is intense and advanced. Highly recommended ! Go Milton !

RYE HIGH SCHOOL
1 PARSONS ST [Details] |
PUBLIC | 9 - 12 | HIGH | 800 |

No high school is going to be perfect for every kid, but Rye High does a great job overall. It tends to work more like a prep school than a typical average public school. It's clearly a competitive environment, where the expectation is that most students are not only going on to college, but to a selective college. A lot of kids graduate with more than six AP classes, some are essentially in a full college program by senior year. Every year, a few dozen kids go off to the Ivy League and the like. Sports and clubs are a big deal, and funded exceptionally well for a public school. It's an affluent community, and parents tend to pick up the slack where the school budget won't cover something. All that said, I don't think Rye High is the most inventive, creative environment. It's a bit old school in its approach, focusing on doing core education very well. There is good support for kids who struggle academically, but they could feel out of the mainstream. If diversity is important to you, you will hate this school. It's about as white bread as you'll find anywhere.

RYE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL
CEDAR ST [Details] |
PRIVATE | K - 12 | HIGH | 804 |

This school is extremely well led and administered. The faculty is mostly excellent and very dedicated. Personal attention to students is remarkable. Wide range of choice (and difficulty) in courses. The honors courses are very challenging, even for very bright students. Some do not like the social atmosphere -- too many rich, privileged kids competing to get into great colleges, too little diversity and genuine intellectual passion. (The administration has been addressing these shortcomings and has made progress.) Overall, a truly great school.

SCHOOL OF THE HOLY CHILD

I'm a student at Holy Child currently and it is an amazing school!! Teachers are always availiable for questions and help via email. It's not a big school so all the students and teachers get to know each other in a way big school do not. It's a laptop school which enhances the learning process due to the many educational websites that are now availiable to students. There are many clubs and sports to take part in and if there isnt a club that interests you than your welcome to create one which many of my friends have done. The parents are involved in every step of their daughters educational live. Its a really good very small school!!
