Our Lady of Lourdes School is truly a school of academic excellence. The school has a very warm and friendly environment. The teachers care about all of their students. The level of instruction has always been great, but keeps getting even better. The Math and Science instruction are especially strong. The Science Lab is state-of-the-art --- all new equipment, fantastic teacher. The school not only meets NYS guidelines, but has exceeded them. Students excel in standardized testing. In addition to its excellent academic instruction, the curriculum includes Fine Arts Instruction, Theatrical Arts, Ballroom Dancing, and Academic Enrichment Programs. Their wonderful sports programs are open to ALL students who wish to participate. No one is left out. The school is Middle States Accredited, and all teachers are certified.

I went to SJB 25 years ago and now I'm sending my daughter. She absolutely loves it! I believe kid's need discipline,safety, structure, Religion in their life, and teachers who really care. This school has all of those things and more! It is like a big family.

I currently have two kids in this school. The Teachers have been excellent and my children look forward to school every day. The PTA has bee good and the other parents are great as well.

My three children attended this school. It is an excellent school. The teachers and staff are very dedicated to making sure your children succeed. They have music and art, a fair amount of extracurricular activities and a great drama club. My children were greatly enriched from this school.

PJ Bellew is THE best Elementary School in the district... The Principal, Mr. Hunter does an outstanding job of constantly raising the bar for kids to achieve. He does this in a way that kids respond to enthusiastically because it is so much FUN! The teachers and staff, each and every one of them care for our kids as if they were their own. Their hearts are in everything they do and it shows. The kids have every possible advantage for a stimulating learning environment. I can't say enough about how truly wonderful and blessed my kids have been to experience PJB. Our third child, Max is in Kindergarden and I will really miss this school when he moves on. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all... even our janitors and lunch ladies are amazing! 'We won't rest... till the good gets better and the better gets best!' Yvonne Albanese

Three of my kids have gone to West Islip HS and my 4th is a freshman there now. Great school, great academics, outstanding sports and music programs. Olympic size pool & planetarium make this school unique. I find that the kids here are pretty disciplined & you don't see the problems that many city schools face. Very college-oriented community.

The principal, Mr. Maniscalco is amazing! He knows all of the kids by thier first names. He knows most of us parents too. I am truly in awe of how warm and patient he is. The teachers, most of them are great. I do think that the buddy system for K-1 grades should be enforced more. Children that age should not be roaming the halls alone. Other than that minor problem, this school is a good school. My children are excelling and I am proud of them!
